Kim joined the team in December 2010 after working with us from client-side on Loud Tate 2010, a film shot by young people from Tate Britain following training from our filmmakers. She completed her MA in Youth Development with an emphasis on the benefits of youth participation in arts programmes. She has worked in the gallery and museum sector as well as for youth charities in both London and the US. Drawing on these experiences, oversees the accreditation process offerend on many of our educational workshops, which provides a rich opportunity for her to connect with participants and help them achieve a recognised certification.
When I moved to the UK, I was the Intern for Youth Programmes at Tate Britain where I provided guidance and support for Tate Forum, an initiative run by and for young creatives. It was here that I was first introduced to Chocolate Films and I am excited to continue nurturing this relationship between the two companies.
This was the first project where I supported young people on their Bronze Arts Award journey. I had a wonderful time getting to know the participants as they developed their blogs, which were reflective of their filmmaking experiences.
Summer Fun was made over the 2011 summer holidays documenting the many out-of-school activities for children and young people in Lewisham. We trained participants to use filmmaking equipment to visually show and tell the fun they were having while cooking, riding horses, playing the piano and lots more.
