Chocolate Films were well represented at 45th annual Co-op Film Festival last week with four of our recent films selected for the programme. The prestigious festival was opened by James and Oliver Phelps who play the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter film franchise and attendance at the event was very high.
Young filmmakers from all over the UK had the chance to see their work screened at Bradford's fantastic National Media Museum. The films were extremely varied and of a very high quality so it was exciting that two films by Chocolate Films picked up Advisor's Choice Awards. Denzel Nkemnacho was there to receive a prize for Cinematography on behalf of the team behind 'Mute' and Gemma Clarke won a special mention for her innovative use of Docudrama techniques. Both films were made last year in partnership with Futureversity as part of the www! project, which was funded by the Lottery through the MediaBox scheme, run by First Light Movies.
'A Lifeless Life' another film made as part of the same scheme was selected for the festival's closing programme and 'The Abandoned Wand' a collaboration with Stream Arts was very popular with the audience.
Well done everybody!
