It's official, the NatWest CommunityForce campaign is well underway and we here at Chocolate Films are thrilled to have already received 70 votes for our 'Home' youth filmmaking project! As we start off the second week of voting, we are hoping to collect at least 70 more
Last week Kim met with Anna Walterskotter, the Programmes Manager at Rathbone in Hackney to discuss the project in more depth. With a strong presence in Hackney, Rathbone is a voluntary youth sector organisation that provides opportunities for young people to transform their life-circumstances by re-engaging with learning, discovering their ability to succeed and achieving progression to further education, training and employment. Together, Kim and Anna discussed the initial aims and objectives of this new partnership and the benefits it would bring not only to the young people but also for the local community and Rathbone as an organisation. Together, both partners agreed that by participating in the 'Home' project young people will not only have the opportunity to gain an additional qualification, but they might also find motivation through a medium that could potentially lead to further educational and future career opportunities. Excitement is already brewing for this project within the local community. Hackney Today has recently contacted us and will be running an article this week about the 'Home' project and the positive impact it will have on its' youth residents.
