Chocolate Films’ Home project is taking part in the NatWest CommunityForce scheme with the chance of winning a grant of £6000. This scheme allows organisations and social enterprises, such as Chocolate Films, to apply for financial assistance for causes that make a difference in the local communities of England and Wales. The Home project is taking place with young people in Birmingham and Hackney, and we need your votes!
For our campaign, Chocolate Films has highlighted the Home project with images and videos to create a rich profile enticing visitors to vote! Voting for our project will allow us to provide 60 disadvantaged young people from St Basils in Birmingham and Rathbone in London with the opportunity to work directly with skilled professionals and specialised equipment. During the workshops, participants will be in charge of directing, filming and editing their films as well as marketing their final product. Many them will also achieve an Arts Award qualification in the process. Having already met with some of the young people, four bold film ideas have been generated revolving around the idea of home and what it means to them.
Voting for the NatWest Community Force Campaign opened on 26th September and runs through 23rd October 2011 with winners being announced early November. Categories span from Education and Young People to Elderly and Disabled. Those who register with NatWest are given three votes and allowed to vote only once for any given project. The CommunityForce award will enable Chocolate Films to successfully deliver the Home project, as we are currently £6000 short of the funds needed.
Head over to the Home project page on our website where you can watch 3 short films, giving you more information about us, about the Home project and about what film ideas these young people have
Alternatively, you can head straight over to the NatWest Community Force page to vote. Remember every vote counts so please spread the word about this campaign!
