For two weeks in August a group of sixteen young people worked to create four short films in the period rooms at the Geffrye Museum. They were given object handling training and tours of the museum by the museum's curators, and then challenged to make a short film of up to 3 minutes, which reflected one of the themes of the upcoming Stories of the World exhibition at the Geffrye. The group took on challenging themes such as Neoclassicism, Aestheticism, communication and the history of hot drinks without being fazed and produced four ambitious ideas. In spite of shortened sessions due to the riots, they managed to shoot complex period dramas and animations and completed them in time for the screening on the last day. The films are now online - check them out on the Behind The Scenes project page.
