Young People Switch On to Broadcasting at the Stephen Lawrence Centre

Young people from Lewisham worked with Chocolate Films broadcast media trainers to put together their own internet TV programme ‘Life in Lewisham’, that went out live on the Switch On online channel on Wednesday 6th April. The broadcast included live interviews with studio guests Doreen Lawrence O.B.E and Nana Adu-Sarfo the Entertainment Manager of Nike UK, along with two short documentaries about gangs and the community and the recent budget cuts.
The broadcast was the culmination of a 5 week project, in which the young people came up with ideas for their short documentaries, got to grips with camera and sound recording equipment, and then filmed and edited their documentaries.
